Rent some sea kayaks and have races in the lake. If some of your group wants to float and swim, showers are located conveniently near the pavilions. The largest pavilion is enclosed for year-round use and can seat 75 for a meal at one time. Pioneer Party – Plan a party at Fielding Garr Ranch for a real wild west experience. The home provides a great backdrop and the shade of the yard’s large trees will keep your group cool. The ranch house, the oldest Anglo-built structure still at its original site in Utah, is open for tours. A Wild West show by R & G Horses will create real excitement for city slickers. The wranglers have authentic costumes from a variety of periods and their trained horses have appeared in a large number of movies. Sunset Views – Book the deck on one of the highest points of the island. You will never see more beautiful sunsets. Buffalo Point, the park’s concessionaire, can arrange bands and/or cowboy poetry. Lagoon staff handles all of the food and entertainment. Whether your group is 25 or 15,000, Lagoon will serve your group with ease. Besides rides for all ages, Lagoon offers live shows throughout the day, a historic pioneer village, and a water park . Information is available at 801-451-8060. Cherry Hill Resort & Waterpark Wet and Wild – Cherry Hill is a top-notch camping resort and a perfect setting for groups that like action. Water parks, swimming pools, miniature golf, batting cages, a climbing wall and much more will keep your group entertained. Three pavilions are available that seat 75 to 225 people. Homey Elegance – If you don’t want to clean house but want a homey atmosphere, book the Utah House on the grounds of the Utah Botanical Gardens. The house can handle 60 for a reception and, weather permitting, guests will want to wander the beautifully landscaped grounds. Suggest that your guests bring their fishing poles to take advantage of the pond next to the house. The classroom is great for seminars and holds 40. You will need to bring your own food or book your own caterer. 801-544-3089 Riding the Rails – Young and old enjoy the nostalgia of the old railroads. Spice up your event by offering hobo stew. The club house in the middle of the park can seat up to 40 – 50 for a meal, but the party will seem more authentic in the Engine House, which can seat 175 people. Arrange to have the trains running and tour the model railroad.
