Family Fun Tour Itinerary

You’ll need a week to do it all!

Day 1:

Lagoon Park – Parents can relax at the water park or join the younger set on over 50 rides. Grandparents will want to watch the live shows and explore Pioneer Village. Lagoon is “what fun is” - and it really deserves two days to do it all!

Day 2:

Cherry Hill Resort – Start by testing your climbing skills as you climb your way to the 30 foot pinnacle of the climbing wall, swing in the batting cages or bounce around with Aeroball. The youngest children can climb through the nets and tunnels of the Playport. Cool off with the water slides, Pirates Cove Activity Pool or the Olympic sized pool. Stop at the restaurant for dinner then slow down with a round of minature golf.

Day 3:

Beaches and Bisons – Utah’s version of the ocean, the Great Salt Lake, has 16 – 18% salt content, making it easy to float in the water. (By comparison, the oceans are about 2%-3% salt content) . Relaxing on the white sandy beaches of Antelope Island and watching the kids kayak and float make a pleasant day. Convenient showers wash away the salt before taking off to discover the wildlife roaming free on the island. Whether renting a bike, taking a guided horseback ride, hiking the 25 miles of trails or just driving to the Historic Fielding Garr Ranch, the island's 600+ bison, pronghorn (antelope), birds and other wildlife wander within view. Order a buffalo burger at the Island Buffalo Grill at Bridger Bay, hike the short loop at Buffalo Point, tackle the trail to Frary Peak (the island's highest point) and linger for the spectacular sunsets over the lake.

Day 4:

Trains, Planes and Speed Racing – Start with the newest attraction, S & S Shortline Railroad. Ride the miniature trains, then venture to the 1920 freight station replica for the train exhibits and a snack at the old fashioned soda fountain. Over 70 planes are the star attraction of Hill Aerospace Museum, including the SR-71 Blackbird spy plane and a B-17 Flying Fortress. Next, it's on to Union Station to be awed by the model railroad exhibit depicting the transcontinental railroad route. Union Station has collections for everyone in the family – gems and minerals, antique cars, guns, trains and even art. End the day with kids 14 and older racing each other in go-karts at the Fast Kart Speed Street Indoor Raceway.

Day 5 – 7:

Take your choice – There is still so much left to explore! Make choices depending on the family’s interest. Younger children will delighted with either the Children’s Museum of Utah in SLC, or Ogden’s Treehouse Museum. The Eccles Dinosaur Park in Ogden combines learning with fun, featuring over 70 life-sized dinosaurs and a hands-on museum. For nature lovers, combine a trip to SLC to see Hogle Zoo, This is the Place Heritage Park, and Tracy Avairy. Finally, Salt Lake City's Clark Planetarium depicts the night skies and has an IMAX theater.
